Retaining wall replaced
November 16, 2018
If a retaining wall is going to give up the ghost, it’s often in winter when the weight of water and sodden earth finally becomes too much for the posts to resist.
The wall starts to lean further and further until, finally, something has to be done.
Luckily we do landscaping work, too. (In fact, I started as a landscaper before moving into tree management.)
This is a concrete block retaining wall we built to replace an old wooden wall. We widened the driveway and removed some of the garden area to establish a solid base for the new wall.
With the capping stones and the rough facing, it’s an attractive garden feature.
